The very structure of an airplane is easy to transform as if it were a human, since its huge front windows look like eyes, and its wings look like arms. That’s what I take advantage of with the drawing above. It is a drawing of a children’s plane, with tender features and painted in a range of pink tones. Building model planes is the perfect way to understand how these wonderful machines work, to decipher the wonder of flight. Also, there is no better way to discover history, than to study a set of plans and to build yourself that legendary plane. This is why we have put together a list of free model airplane plans and drawings for scratch. Easy Blue Print is a software program used to quickly create floor plans for office and home layouts with precise measurements.

- How to Draw an Airplane
Drawing a cartoon airplane: some fun facts before starting sketching!
- A 747 has 6 million different parts!
- 90% of planes crashes do have survivors! That's why it is considered a safe way to travel.
- The 747 carries more than 62 000 gallons of fuel.
Step 1
Drawing an airplane can not be done without studying all the features of this great machine! This is more technical than the previous examples but it's still a lot of fun!
Take a close look at the nose (1), the main wings (2), the tail (and the fin)(3), the landing gears (6) and the turbojet engines (5). Notice how the two main wings are almost as long as the fuselage.
Step 2
Taking a look at the shapes of our plane, we can see some triangles for the wings and a long oval shape for the fuselage. The nose is a little lower to give a perfect view of what's ahead for the crew. The main leading gears are located on the main wings, a couple of feet near the fuselage.
Step 3
Let's try to sketch this plane from a side view. Draw an oval for the fuselage. Take a good look at both end of this shape to draw it right. Next, add the main wings and the tail. Try to keep the proportions as right as you can.
Now draw the engines, the nose and the windshield. You can also add the windows along the fuselage. I've added some shadows on this example to make my plane more visually attractive.
Step 4
We just practice ourselves to draw a commercial airplane. You can also try to draw a fighting aircraft (4) or a more 'cartoonish' one (3). Study a couple of models and don't forget to pay attention to proportions. Maybe you can try to sketch your plane from a top view (4) if you find the example above a little too difficult. Once you are done, you can also try to create a rocket, a balloon or a cute helicopter! Enjoy! :)
